Tired of these problems?

Congress Polarization

Congress used to vote across party lines. People didn’t just vote on a bill based on who submitted it. Take a look at this great visualization by Vox.

Multi-issue Bills

More bills are addressing multiple issues at a time, also called Omnibus Bills. Want to help the homeless? Raytheon will need more funding! Healthier school lunches? Lower standards for waste dumping. Why are these things on the same bills?

Corporation Provided Bills

Did you know that corporations will, and do in bounds, hand over legislation for lawmakers to pass. Bullshit. Corporations should not be designing the laws.

Enter the Hornet Party

Banning for profit prisons

We should not have these. They work to have more prisoners because they make profit on each person they have in their prison. We are one of the only first world countries that have these. Biden got rid of them Federally, but left the state ran ones open… functionally doing nothing. Prison is for reform, not profit.

Supreme court held to same ethics as lower courts

Bribes? The highest court? Standards?

That’s right. The supreme court has a different (lower) set of standards than the lower federal courts. Billionaire Harlan Crow purchased a 300k house (back when that was a nice house) for a supreme court justices mom. Also yacht trips. Ooof.

Let’s make them the same.

Removing Private Jets as a tax write-off

Call me insane, but private jets should not be a tax write off. As of 2018, they can be entirely taxpayer covered. This is stupid, and if you disagree, I also think you are stupid.

Fix the Voting System

Nobody actually likes our presidential candidates.  People are stuck with Biden or Trump. What if there was a way to vote third party without also throwing your vote away..?

There is! Ranked choice. We have it already in Alaska’s local elections. You rank the candidates you would want to win, and if your number 1 pick doesn’t have the votes, your second (or third, or fourth….) kicks in. Easy peasy. 2 party system over.

Electric Bike Credits + Bike Lane Federal Program

Electric cars are getting all the credit(s)? That seems silly. The amount of lithium and resources a car needs is astronomically higher than a bike. An large amount of people live in cities, that could use be using an electric bike as a way to travel. We should work on this notion that you need to transport 2,500lbs of steel to pick up groceries for the week. Let’s get well lit, separated bike lanes, and get active.

Serious Train Expansion

We used to have them. Now we are way behind. Trains can now go 300 mph.

The reliance on cars in our country was a mistake. They are a useful mode of transportation, but should not take up 95% of our resources. Electric bikes, scooters, and trains, are the solution for the cities of America.

Sports Teams Pay for their own stadiums.

Local municipality giving steep tax cuts to a sports team because a different state might do that? Why is there this weird thing where states are being bullied around by billion dollar non-profits like the NBA or NFL?  Let’s put a stop to that.

Food stamps for extremely profitable companies working fulltime (company pays for the stamps)

Did you know that many fortune 500 companies, also have employees on receiving tax payer funding for food stamps? It’s interesting that they can be that profitable, but also manage to pay their employees so little they have government subsidized food. Large orgs will be responsible for government programs of their employees receiving government assistance due to salary.

Equal public school funding

Did you know that schools are funded by local municipalities, not just state or federal funding, so that higher income areas have much nicer schools? Did you know other countries outperforming us in education (too many now) have equal funding for public schools, including healthy free lunches and breakfast?

Let’s do that. Easy one.

Single Payer Healthcare

Our healthcare system is is a worldwide laughingstock. I paid 6,200 for my baby, and people are questioning why millennials are not having kids?

Big time oligopy/monopoly busting

Everyone knows they have gotten out of hand. Endless Mergers and Acquisitions without any oversight. Microsoft now owns world of Warcraft halo and call of duty? Apple and Android own all of the phones? 30% transaction fees? The founding fathers didn’t have electricity. Let’s legislate like the know the internet exists.

For example, Disney own ABC, Hulu, Marvel, and ESPN.

Ban on corporations owning single family homes

Woah woah woah. Should faceless, skinless, organizations be able to leverage their massive amounts of wealth to generate shareholder value in the housing market? Right now, the status quo is “YES!”. The income inequality of America and landownership squeezing renters has to be addressed. Homes can either be a place to live, or exist as a financial investment with limitless returns, they cannot remain both.
